Performance Characteristics of PE Corrugated Pipes
Features
Double-wall corrugated pipes boast excellent chemical stability, ageing resistance and environmental stress cracking resistance. HDPE double-wall corrugated pipes manufactured from this material are flexible pipes. Its main performances are listed below:
High external pressure resistanceThe outer wall adopts an annular corrugated structure, which greatly improves the ring stiffness of the pipe and strengthens its resistance to soil load. HDPE double-wall corrugated pipes have obvious advantages over other pipes in this performance.
Low project costUnder equal load conditions, HDPE double-wall corrugated pipes can meet requirements with thinner pipe walls. Therefore, compared with solid-wall pipes of the same material and specification, it saves about half of raw materials and features lower project cost, which is another outstanding advantage of this pipe.
Easy constructionLight weight enables convenient transportation and connection, bringing simple installation and maintenance. Its advantages become more prominent under tight construction schedules and poor site conditions.
Low friction resistance & large flow capacityHDPE double-wall corrugated pipes deliver larger flow than other pipes of the same nominal diameter. In other words, HDPE double-wall corrugated pipes with relatively smaller diameter can be selected for the same flow requirement.
Excellent low-temperature resistance and impact performanceHDPE double-wall corrugated pipes have a brittle temperature of -70℃. No special protective measures are required for construction under common low-temperature conditions (above -30℃), facilitating winter construction. The pipe also has good impact resistance.
Superior chemical stabilityHDPE molecules are non-polar, granting the pipe outstanding chemical stability.
